A bike hire scheme celebrating the idea that every Londoner’s journey is a story which can be shared.
The Same Bike Different Story
Londoners are currently stuck in the routine of taking the same journey every day which takes a toll on one’s mental health. Journey combats this through allowing users to see their everyday journey as a way to practice mindfulness whilst commuting.
Our journals can be read and written into by each of our user’s, creating a small community of anonymous riders sharing and reading stories on how they made the most out of their journey.
The Concept
Each of our bikes have a journal attached to it in a waterproof pouch. This is where riders can write their thoughts and memories at the end of their bike journey or read through the ones already written by locals or visitors to the city.
This allows riding a bike to not only be a way of being mindful through your journey, but also to interact and discover new things about London and Londoners through simply reading through (y)our stories.
Each story has been scanned and placed entirely raw in a zine to maintain the authenticity and uniqueness of the user and their story. Every fifth page a randomised rider is featured to show the people behind our stories and the diversity that lies within bike riding and in London as a city.
Promotion
The scheme would be promoted on public transport.
It would be made up of quote’s taken from stories and illustrations created by our riders.
Partnership
Our scheme has been sponsored by Costa Coffee therefore selected stories from the journals will be published into a zine every three months that will be left in Costa Coffee houses.
This allows every journey made from our riders to be shared - because journeys don't stop when you get off our bikes.
